You'll be fine to just touch the end of the pool however comes naturally. Smile

It's worth checking if the swim is up and down one lane of the pool, or one where you "snake" across the pool ...

Yeah 5k in a pool is not the most enjoyable experience! I did it with a training partner and we rotated after doing 500m on the front each time, which broke it up quite nicely.

Trispoke are generally only faster under certain conditions, I would imagine that 99% of AG triathletes would be faster overall with a good 60-90mm front.

I would imagine that a lot of it depends ...

5k at the Swimathon this morning. Did it long course after a winter of not much training, just snuck inside 1:20 so quite happy I haven't dropped off a huge amount.

Need to get back into it!

My friend Tom did a 2:37 this year to get inside the top 100, when last year he would have been ~250th with that time. I think that speaks a lot for the conditions!

Through half way in 1:20:46, on track for a sub 2:45 if he keeps it up over the hills. Looks absolutely disgusting - wheelchair athletes finished and were shaking in the cold
