Thumbs. No tools needed, no damage risk to rim, or risk of pinching. Just use your thumbs. Practice and toughen up.

Always glue. Even raced without glue, just the unclean sticky #@?# thats left on the rim. Never had a tub move a mm on the rim. Lucky, life begins on the edge of your comfort zone

Had some cartilage removed from the knee. Surgeon said no more running for me....ever. Was not a happy chappy.

with those 35mm wide tyres, you will be fine. Chill out, don't grip too much. Lizard skin is good grippy soft bar tape, but wears out quick.
