A fairly obvious but usually ignored piece of advice is to first do a triathlon and see if you enjoy it. If you do, great, then plan to build towards a LD tri. If you don't, best try to find something ...

Yes, I saw Catherine was back in the mix. She took some time out of triathlon for her career, but I'm not sure what she's doing now (apart from kicking arse again tri).
