I am in two, Very Happy the weather don't look too bad for Saturday so I might head down to the Lakes for a bit of training on a couple of the passes. Although I fell off 3 weeks ago, 26mph and are getting over a minor subluxation of the collar bone. doh.

Good luck with the collar bone. I'm thinking of doing a recce later in the year but I'm coming from Winchester, so might wait until it's warmer!

Booked my hotel (I think it's the one where Markie's friend died) Wink

I love the Lake District and I love riding my bike, but the idea of combining the two really doesn't appeal Wink

I live in SW Scotland so can be in Keswick in 1:15 minutes, I have done a lot of the climbs when doing the Wasdale X 1/2IM in 2015, going to do Honister tomorrow, one of the climbs I have not done on a bike. Smile

I've deferred my place until next year as I did not really do the winter miles I wanted and IM Wales is the priority this year. Also, a load of mates from Somt are throwing their hat in the ring again next year (they've all done it before) so I might get a chance to ride with them.

I see that the event is being handed over to Human Race from next year, I hope they will honour the deferral Confused

Good luck to all on Sunday. Smile

The way I read the announcement, I thought HR were taking over the event from this year's ride

Good event to do as a recce for the real thing, Triathlon X Wink

Flippin busy with a few thousand riders on those tiny roads though; much better with the few hundred in the triathlon.

You could be right. I didn't get an email or anything, just picking up what I read on another forum.

I did the Lakeland Loop 2 weeks ago as a warm up, that went OK, so I am all set for Sunday, I did the Wasdale X half a couple of years ago, so once I have done the Celtman may be a crack at the full X is in order. Surprised

+1

Exactly why I haven't tried signing up for the Fred. The thought of descending Honister with a few hundred potentially crap riders around me is downright scary.

I'll take my chances surviving the addition of Windermere and Scafell instead.

I have to say that is my biggest worry, people who are not used to riding in groups "taking me out" but last time that happened it was with my Tri club!!! Shocked
