Have started upping my game getting ready for revenge on the Oner in April. Anyone else definitely doing this race?
First event of the year for me this year and designed as a training test for the Oner will be the Ashridge boundary run this Saturday. This is a 16.5 mile off road run with an ascent/descent of Ivenhoe Beacon (start of the Ridgeway Ultra) throw in. Situated in the northern Chilterns I would highly recommend this event especially for those going long in the next couple of months. Hope to see some of you there

Nice one Rod
Curry is doing The Oner and out to nail it this time - a man on a mission
I nearly entered but my wife is working in either the US or Kuala Lumpar more than half of the time at the moment so I just can't find the time to race
Hoping to get down to AT this year for a cheeky 10-12 hr run. Have also got Centurion's CW50 and WW50 later in the year when hopefully the wife's foreign travel has come to an end
Pity really as I'm fit as a butcher's dog at the moment

Yes I'm back for double revenge at The Oner this year. Hoping for third time lucky.
I did two recces last weekend; around Portland island and an 18 mile out and back from Studland Bay to imagine what its like to run across the finish line.
I have been using Ivinghoe Beacon on some early morning training runs; incorporating 4-6 x up and down it!
Gin Pits double marathon this weekend.
Rod - are you doing the Gade Valley Harriers 20 mile marathon training run on Sunday 26 March?

Doing my first ultra in a month, Belves 50k in the Dordogne (cheap to fly and a pal who's also running has a gite nearby). Have done a decade of mara and 5 years of IM but this'll be my first time running over 26 miles.

Hi Andy
Just remember that there's no shame in walking some of it. In fact its obligatory, especially the hills.
Enjoy.

A milk round is probably your safest bet

i was running sections of it with a view to taking it on last year, but NZ C2C did for me...
i hope to resurrect the training later this year...
We have a late Sept time share on the route but keep swapping the week for Xmas so i tend to get less time on the hills...
