Jeff- sorry to hear that buddy, but I've been there and done the same. Definitely the right decision if you feel crap. Think of all that beer you can now drink over the weekend 😂

Sorry you've had to make that decision Jeff but you obviously know it's the right one.

Carb loading is going well - I suppose something had to:-)

Feeling a bit better again today but not yet 100%.. i've definitely had something up but i'm improving so i'll definitely be running.

I made it in and out of the Expo without buying anything although i did sponsor a guide dog. So thats 240 right there. He is a black Lab called Farah.....

Haha ace twhat.

Sorry to hear as well Jeff, but you know your body and no point risking the rest of your season on it. Loud cheers from you please!!

It seems that a lot of people around me are all raring to go, and are like caged animals. I'm more like a TV on standby mode. Hopefully i haven't lost the remote to turn things back on again! !

Just wait until you're stood in the pen Ginger though saying that I think walking to the start is when it begins to get me.

Good luck everyone, always fun watching this thread develop over springtime, alongside clubmates and work colleagues also.

Mate at work (who's looking to break his very own sub-3 monkey on about the 8th attempt!) just came back from the Expo with some new Adidas Bostons - he swears he definitely won't be running in them, but he said they feel 'really nice' so lets see Smile

No Vest GB

Shame Jeff, I would probably still have done it. But at least you know you are there for next year to give a it a good crack.

I always find the registration quite exciting, not sure why as others are generally just a hassle to get through.

Good luck all on Sunday!

Yep, good luck everyone, forecast is looking pretty perfect!

Had to go for a swim today just to burn off some nervous energy.

One fella to watch is 'Vegan Runner,' Andrius Jaksevicius. Really nice fella who is gunning for sub 2:23. He recently came 3rd at Manchester in 2:24! Now that is rather good!

I have seen him in the Strava VLM group. The mileage each week (including this one) is staggering and at such a pace.

yeah, bonkers. Just over a year back he had a hip injury so he was putting in a lot of miles on the bike. He's bloody good at cycling too!!

I might have this wrong but i'm sure on one of his strava threads he mentioned he'd recently had his VO2 tested at 80+

Good luck all Very Happy

I've been tracking your progress on Strava and here and I'm expecting big things Very Happy

I've had a few quiet months and have recently started building up the running. Had a hit out at parkrun this morning and bagged a course PB which was pleasing.
