i have now started on the slippery slope of looking at upgrading my bike
i have tested a tri spoke hed 3 on front and rear
i have been told my wheels cud be bettered by fast lads!

about to try out a hed disc

all second hand older models

what combo are people using to gain that extra few seconds as i have just started tt and already finding bike splits are up in sprint tri distances

really unsure what to go for

thanks in anticipation

Disc & deep front. How deep the front is will depend on your handling confidence in crosswinds. I'm fortunate to have a 404 & 808 front, so take both and decide on race day. The 808 Firecrest can be a real handful in very windy races. If you don't mind using Tubulars, you can get good wheels on the S/H market for less than clinchers.

What about your clothing & helmet, have you looked at those? They have the potential to save you more time than expensive wheels.

There is a Facebook group called Buy and Sell TT / Triathlon Bike/Parts/Kit and there are always wheels coming up on there.

For a rear disk look as a disc cover, they cost very little and have roughly the same aero benefits as a full disk (although the only study / test I could find was done by WheelBuilder.com on their own Aerojacket cover so make of that what you will.)
