Thanks for this......In theory then all I need is to change the chainset. I have a new 11-28 cassette that came with a set of wheels that Ive not used.
What about a new chain? Is that necessary?

you could get a new chain to be safe, as you are getting a new cassette and chainrings. Save the old one in case you decide to swap back. Or shorten the old one, installation instructions here; http://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-CN0001-05-ENG.pdf
