Seems like a fun idea, create an extra competition and hopefully will get a bit of media coverage unlike the crappy Ironman live they put together for Kona every year.

I really like the new ranking system created by the PTO to help pick the teams also

Gets rid of the M-Dot bias BS and gives rankings on all long and middle distance race performances.

this event has been knocking around since 2016 without seemingly any date and venue to get it off the ground - and even now it won't happen until July 1 2018 - which makes me wonder if the pros are actually buying into this
