She broke the record for most number of miles ridden in a year hitting 86k and is now on for the fastest 100k miles. She's also maintaining a very respectable 20mph+ average speed considering the distances she's doing.

How is she not broken?

Now Steve Abraham is attempting to break it. In contrast to Amanda doing it on the same flat, multi lap course in 70 degree weather day in day out, Steve is doing different routes each day through the good old British weather.

Bunch riding on a flat circuit doing multiple laps. The way to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to preserving power. That said to ride every day for 12 hours or more is seriously impressive, she must have incredible mental strength to achieve what she has done, it is a phenominal achievement. I love riding my bike but what she is doing would have me on medication after a fortnight.

Whilst Steve is going for the same record he is trying to do it completely differently and in doing so is facing many challenges that are making the job even harder than it would be.

I think Amanda will hold the record until someone else uses the approach she did.

Truly amazing.

I once did 6000m in a year on a bike. And had to truly push it to get there. Ha ha. Never got close again. 6000m is not even a month's distance for her !!

96 hours I get and with support off the bike is doable, but doing it on the same route round and round must take some mental strength.

Good luck to her, she must be one determined lady
