Did a 10 on the H10/8 yesterday but event was cancelled half way through because a rider was hit by a vehicle on his way to the start, just before the finish line. I had to stop completely on the finish descent as police had blocked the lane and were slowing traffic but did 22:09 according to my Garmin off 333W average. Official time was 22:46 though, not sure how that happened. Everyone else seemed to get an official time 11 to 14 seconds slower than their time for the H10/8 segment on Strava which for me was 21:57. Not really bothered about it in the circumstances though.

I actually got an evening 10 in a couple of weeks ago, did it on my Ti training bike with clip-ons and managed 24:25, did the same course a week later on my P5 10 seconds slower Sad

It's not the quickest of courses but that lad that won on the evening did it by a couple of minutes and equalled the time Chris Newton posted the year he won an Olympic medal (i.e. he's good!). Probably 60+ seconds slower than V718

Bit of an update: secured a long time target with a sub 4 100 - 3:58:30, and a club record on B100/4 on Sunday.

I'd messed up on THE day on E2/100 - blinding fast course, perfect conditions, records falling all over the show and I rode badly (later discovered some brake rub but was still off on power). So came into this a bit angry and very focussed.

Slower course than E2 (my 25's are about 2 mins slower on these roads than E2), and conditions far from perfect and I was off the pace (but on power) at halfway. Assumed this would be another near miss to go into the collection but noticed that although power was still steady pace was picking up in the third quarter and I was starting to claw back some pace.

Final 25 miles I dropped the hammer, found another 10 or watts, rode at 26.5 mph and bagged the elephant. 5th overall, also nice.

Well done, always great to bag one of those milestones.

Bagged another club record and PB with 1:55:19 for 50 miles on B50/18 (A11 route).

Decent day, was not full gas with Chattanooga in a week, but felt strong and solid and returning decent speed.

Joe Skipper rocked up, rode 1:40:31, then hopped off and ran 10k in sub 36... Rolling Eyes

New 11 sec PB on the V718 in great weather on Saturday afternoon and with PBs for 2 clubmates of 20.05 and 19.51 we smashed the club team 10 record by 2.17 with 1.00.40. My first 29mph average ride.

Am in decent form at the moment as PBd on a slow 30(.2) course with 1.12.45 on Sunday too

Well done Newark on (finally) getting a fast one on the V and topping the table Mad

Yes it is two laps of last year's national 25 - I did a 100 a month or so back on it as well and also PB'd.

Ridden that course quite a lot and there have been some repairs so it is still bad but perhaps not quite as bad as it was.

It's not as quick as E2 but pretty quick; gap will definitely close next year as I'm told all E2 events will revert from Saturday pm to early Sunday so it will be colder and less traffic benefit on E2 which will slow things down a bit.

Finally? I've ridden the course twice this season both on good weather days and PBd both times so I can't complain.

Sat pm events are only banned on the E2 from next season in the summer months so e.g. the Lea Valley event we both rode in early April can still stay on a sat pm and some of the other sat pm events may move forward so they can stay on a saturday too.

Excellent NT Very Happy looks like you could be worrying that 20 minute barrier next year.

Last TT of the season at the Leo 30 on the E2/30c course yesterday. Weather forecast didn't look great but the rain held off for us early starters and the wind was much less of an issue that most thought it would be. One of my best rides of the season to record 1.05.38 for the amended 30.2 mile course (27.6mph). I went through 25 miles in 53.55 so only 7 secs slower than my 25 pb on the 25 variant of the same course back in April which TRO rode too.

Couple of hillclimbs still to do and maybe a bit of cyclocross but that's the flatter TTs done for this season. Dual carriageway PBs at 10, 15, 25 and 30 miles and single carriageway PBs at 10, 25, 30 and 50 miles as well as 6 club trophies as outright winner and 2 more joint wins. Cool

Great work NT, superb ride, yep I rode as well.

No 132, so at the back of the field and really copped the rain.

I really couldn't make out the wind at all - was definitely breezey so I really expected to fly out to the turn (quite fancied getting there at 30mph+.... Wink ) then get shredded coming back.

But the tailwind just didn't happen out, and I was not much over 27.5 mph at the turn. I really thought I was going to get flayed coming back, but the headwind didn't happen either so pretty much held pace.

Rain was diabolical coming back and combined with heavy traffic it was really nasty and for the first time ever I was really nervous and uncomfortable on the E2. I wouldn't have started had I known, if there has been an easy way to sack I would have, but at the turn you pretty much have to ride the course to get back, so thought I might as well drill it as best I can.

Final 1:05:59, decent in the circumstances.

TT season over now, PB's at 25, 50 and 100. Only the 10 eluded me, had more grunt than last year but never got the decent day/fast course combo to have a real go at it.

Sounds awful, it started to rain as I dropped down the hill back to Fulbourn after the finish then stopped whilst I changed etc but by the time I came out of HQ to drive home it was pretty set in and the drive home wasn't great from the comfort of the inside of the car let alone being sprayed on the bike in traffic. I rode the API Metrow 25 a year last June when I was getting bow waves from the lorries on the A14 but the turn at Four Wentways was hot and sunny!

Great season TRO well done!

The conditions must've been qutie variable, I think, pretty sure it got slower later given Rachel and the top times.

Hill climb season though! Two down, so far for me, and another next weekend, sponsored by Otter Brewery so that's the main reason I'm doing it.

I got caught I think for the first time ever in a hill climb, and before half way up the hill!

Thanks!

Must have been very quick early then, as I didn't find it slow - decent speed, not a real fast float but certainly not slow. Time equated to around 55 mins for 25: rode my 52:49 off similar power, but also rode 57 off 10w more this year!

Not a '10' but I went 28.39 at Thruxton today. Pretty happy but not stellar at all.
