Anybody here done the 3 Peaks? I'm doing a bit more offroad and trying to get somewhat fit again. I fancy maybe having a go but I seen that it's pretty hard to get into. What is stopping me have a go at parts of the course any time of the year? Is any of it normally closed to bikers?

Are you talking about the proper sailing and running version, or some variant of it? Whichever, the thing that takes most by surprise is the lack of sleep between each peak. You need good admin and a good support team if possible to get over that hurdle.
Snowdon has a voluntary daytime MTB ban May-Sept.
See http://www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk/pages/snowdn_volunt.htm

No bridleway up Scafell, so not technically legal, and a bit of a grind anyway, by all accounts.

Ben Nevis is legal, but almost unridable.

A bit of reading on the website and you'll find this...

Cycling Exclusion Zones
It is normally illegal to ride over sections of the race route that are footpaths or traverse private land. Permission to ride over these sections has been granted for the day of the race only. This means that there is strictly NO CYCLE TRAINING over most of the off-road sections. See the course map for full details. The future of the race will be in jeopardy if selfish riders ignore these restrictions.
