I came across the Bearman Xtreme Triathlon by some random chance (can't even remember where) and tried hard not to think about it. But it stuck, gah, and I've now entered for 2018.

It looks a stunner with 18-22C swim and beautiful views all day long. It's like a sunny, warm Triathlon X with more height on the bike. Worship

Anyone got any info on this race? Anyone want to join me in sunny southern France? Smile

I was tempted for this year, but scaled back my plans to UK-only and shorter distance.

More running in the dark than TriX due to time of year, although it's road rather than fell. Overall time similar to TriX, looking at Chris Eggar's timings this year, the chap with whom I did Chamonix Evergreen last year. Like Chamonix it'll be long steady climbs on the bike rather than the short extreme climbs of TriX (I included 1-hour time trials in my training, in the absence of comparable hills locally). With Chamonix I found 5000m of Alpine climbing tougher than the same elevation of Lakeland climbs, and running in the dark after that, on rocky trails, was mentally tough.

Will be great to hear how you get on Smile

I'm not saying 'no' but you would have to ask my missus for a pass away. Go down together and make long weekend of it? Unlikely that I will go but it has got me interested.
