all three sessions were really tough, so i was sensible for once and gave my legs some recovery time.
A big road hill rep session, an even bigger off road hill rep session and a pre work road marathon on Friday morning. Coulld've gone out last night, but not really sure what it would have added. |
I'm impressed, what time did you start that? |
I left the house at 5am, in my office just gone 8.30. Seriously needed to warm up, so a quick shower and then hit the cafe hard for some prime snack and coffee time before actually doing any work!!

After a big start ended up being a recovery week, sometimes we need to know when to hold back instead of opening up the throttle.
Boring but better long term.
My carp swim is improving too!
Back at it next week.

Been sniffley all week and waking up with a blocked nose, it's also Xmas party week so training is mostly on hold. Managed a swim this evening though, decided to try to the ST Guppy Challenge and actually get some swim consistency in over the winter.

An "ok" week, nothing spectacular. 7 hrs 47 minutes in total.
3 x Swim 4600M
3 x Run 12 miles
2 x Bike (all turbo) 90 minutes
3 x Strength and core 2 hours
Going into the New Year, will ensure SBR get 3 sessions each a week and if one is to be dropped it will be Strength.

Last week
Swim 2 - 5075m
Bike - 4 - 122km (No commutes)
Run - 1 - 12km
Impacted by snow/ice so run replaced by bike and all bikes on turbo.

Great start to recovery week.
Did the yoga as planned in the morning. Drove up to the gym last night for a swim, fire alarm had gone off, no swim.
Oh well, it's a planned recovery/easy week so no harm done.

I may sound like a total outsider, but most of the times, I don't go training for the sake of training... since I dislike that.
"then why the hell are you doing here?"
Well, I just incorporated as much as I could into my daily routine. I live 5 kilometers away from my workplace, give or take, and cycle from home and back. Since I come back home to eat on week days and work only in the morning on Saturdays, that's 110 kilometers a week.
Then, swimming. I actually like that, so I do go swimming. I don't really calculate the distances, but I swim 2 to 3 hours once each week. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's not, since I alternate between different ways to swim, and sometimes get lost into my thoughts or music and swim at the rhythm of what's in my brain. But what's important is to swim.
Running.. I used to hate running, and still do to an extent. But I love military stuff, so I began playing airsoft. Trust me, if you run each second weekend with 15 to 25 kilos of stuff on yourself and a pair of thick leather boots, you'll feel as light as a feather when running in shorts and sneakers!
Of course, I don't have the self-discipline of many people there... but that's my non-sporty way to do sports and be in shape, and it does work!

Tin pot.
Can you not even bike?
My Achilles heel is my calfs.
They need careful planning and maintainence.
Merry Xmas to all on tri talk.
Hope you and yours have a great one.
