My boots for alpine trips have lost any traction they once had, so Im think of some shoes that I could also run in.

I’ve binged and googled around but only find old, now discontinued Solomon’s and Asics.

Anyone run in the Winter mountains?

I've got a pair of Salomon Fellraisers and they are by far the most versatile off-road shoe I've had, seem to get great grip on trail, mud, snow (ran in them on a ski holiday), grass.

One shoe to rule them all Wink

Quick review.

Couldn’t find either talons or fellraisers in time, but you guys got me on the right track and I had Salomon Speedcross 4 delivered before we left.

Ran in them today, snow tracks and icey roads, only one minor slip in 5km.

Worn them all week in the snow and ice and no slips.

Feet dry through snow and rain.

Only problem is that uphill on the snow tracks I break through the packed snow making it heavy going Smile

So top marks for the speed cross.

Cheers.

I got an old set of Inov8 Oroc 340 which I use for really sh!tty weather. Metal studs built in.

Surprisingly they grip pretty well on rock as well. No idea why since I always expect the metal studs to slip. But they don't.

They sound awful on tarmac though.
