As I think I said before, the change is driven by being coached so adopting his approach. Doing lots of runs at mara and HM pace, whereas before I would do more shorter, sharper sessions.

Plus, the end goal this year is a first full distance, so that kinda necessitates a shift to longer durations / more volume to build more of a foundation early on.

First proper race is The Big Half in 2 weeks, then first A race of Mallorca 70.3...

Not a good week for various reasons, still:
7 runs ~65km in ~4:43
2 rides ~82km in ~2:55 (175 AP 211 NP)

No commutes, so overall volume way down.

I get that, the faster runs seem to be making the 14 kph required for a 1;30 half in a 70.3 more sustainable.

Big half...? half Marathon..? Flat / Hilly?

First full distance next year for me, have you seen improvements with the coaching?

A better week for me - back on it after my father had a heart op...

Swim - 1hr, 2500m - swimming is the discipline that suffered due to lack of time
Bike - 8hrs 19 - a good mix of turbo and a 4hr ride outside
Run - 2hrs 15 - 24k in total, including a run test, which was brutal but fun.

Weight also down to 11st 4lbs, which is around 74kg - 6kg left to lose by May.

Looking forward to another big week - 12hrs 45mins scheduled this week.

Not long to Ironman Lanza now - looking for 11hrs 30mins, so some serious work to do.

I'm the opposite, I am desperate to get out runinng but have been out of action since my 100. I've damaged the tendons and muscles on the top of my foot/shin and around my ankle. It's driving me nuts and physio reckons it could be a slow 3-4 week healing process.

I've done absoutely nothing for 11 days now, and i'm at risk of slipping into the 'want to do something but can't be bothered' state of mind. Guess i should go for a pull buoy swim or do some sit-ups ... anything other than eating enough to feed a small nation!!

Not a training week. One run on Thursday, and an FTP test.

Moved from 214 to 225 so Iím only 5 short of my indoor peak last year Smile

Mmmm, another really poor week. Less than 5 hours all in.

I was still getting over the cold, so hopefully this week will be more productive.

14 hours.
Good week overall.
Rode and ran outside.
Run total for 2 runs was 29k in two hours.
Two swims of 30 mins.... I'm slow but don't get any slower. 3 k total.
Watts are up on intervals.
Stretching completed but still the same weight !

Last week was still reasonable volume, but into taper for a HM next Sunday for me now. Still got this niggling head cold, so hoping a lighter week will enable that to clear up. Travel to Moscow last week complicated things ... and I appear to have brought back the weather Rolling Eyes

2 swims for 5.1km
2 turbos totalling 2hrs, 125 TSS, 69km recorded distance
1 outdoor ride of 101km (213 TSS, 0.71 IF)
1 hotel treadmill for 50mins, 10km
2 runs totalling 40km in 3hrs

Managed very little the last 2 weeks as still suffering the after effects of the flu 3 weeks ago.

3 swims over the fortnight totalling about 7.5km but nothing very strenuous. Tried a very gentle, flat bike last weekend, 30W less power and 15bpm higher HR than the same ride a few weeks earlier.

Although I really don't feel like it I think I'm going to have to force myself to do a few gentle sessions this week and at least feel like I'm back into some sort of routine.

Various reasons continuing so another poor week:

5 runs ~43km in ~3:11
2 commutes 62km in 3:00
1 extended commute 64km in 2:16 (190AP 230 NP)
1 sat on the turbo pootling whilst working 1:45 (92 AP 114 NP)

The sunday run was particularly bad, stopped after 5km just feeling really rubbish.

Still no zero days, but with the easier days recently my TSB was 0 after that sunday run, so I should be hitting top form!

I've hardly left my bed for 3 days now so no training and nothing imminent.

Just want to feel semi normal again.

Hoping it's not going to drag on for a long time.

Jesus Jeff...
Lot of it about.
Get well before you start training.
