Not long to go for this one.
Has anyone ridden over there or know the area and course?

It looks lumpy, whats the climbs & descents like?

A very tough day out. Choppy swim
With winds that punished after the turnaround.
Very sad to hear an English competitor passed away in the water.

How very sad, I'm also a bit shocked that there doesn't seem to be any mention of it on the Tri websites, (Slowbitch etc..) or on the event page.

I did notice from photos that the majority were on TT bikes, but very few were using discs. Do you think this was the right approach?

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

I thought it was a brilliant course, Id recommend it. Its not a fast course for sure. There's a lot of climbing & a lot of false flats and the wind made it slower but it was an epic course & worth doing.
The climbs aren't too steep. The 1st 2 climbs are & then its up and down ot the turn and then up and down back to the 1st climb when you can fly down if youre brave enough in the wind!
I rode a TT bike and thinks its the best choice for the course, there's lot of sections for the tri bars.
The run is the usual 2 loops along the seafront.
I think its a course worth doing.
