Mungo
Bike computer dead! RIP!
Lbs fitted a new one but it was crap...
There words! Fair dos there honest.

Looking for a wireless computer that reads speed and cadence. HR would be great too. I still use a t31 strap and watch.
Polar bike computers seem too basic/ complicated .

Any tri talkers know a head unit that will pick up a polar strap.
Don't want apps, power, swift, training peaks etc etc.

Polar is quite a locked down collection of products as far as I am aware, so only their own devices will work with their own transmission protocols (outside of ant+ and BT smart compatible devices).

So for your existing HR monitor, I think you are stuck with polar products. And this chart seems to list all those compatible...

The Polar V460 is fairly well regarded as a value for money unit, and is still overspec'd for what you want. Your other option is to get a new hrm bundled with the head unit, unlikely to be cheaper, but may give you more options.

No HR, but I started out with this one which does what you ask. It's tiny but functional.

Or get a secondhand Garmin 500 with HR and cadence for 50 quid (and GPS etc etc).

Thanks fellas.
Chrace will a garmin pick up the polar strap?
Don't want to change the watch I wear for the run, so stuck with polar.

No.

But quite a few people agree the best combo is Garmin pod with Polar strap - https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2010/08/solution-to-heart-rate-dropoutsspikes.html

Polar still isn't on Ant+ like the rest of the market, so you're stuck with Polar. :/

What is the watch? Is there any chance it can pick up an BLE HRM?
It's unlikely, so you are left with getting a Polar bike computer if you want HR on the head unit. But the V460 is not a bad option and there are probably older/cheaper options on ebay that will do your job.

Bid on a rc3 on flea bay, it's a polar unit, its a watch but has HR and I can chop it up and leave it on the bike!
I run with a ft4 but prefer the original fs2c as the heart rate figures seem easier to read.

I'm not very tech minded as you can tell!
I appreciate the comments.
