Very sad...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/05/16/super-fit-police-officer-died-scuba-diving-went-run-night-inquest/

Diving is such a science in it's own right and we still can never always predict the consequences. Sadly most of our knowledge has been learned from fatal experience.

"There but for the grace of God..."

Ughhh,

I do a lot of diving on holiday and often plan to run the day before with little idea it could cause issues. Nothing in any of the training to suggest this is the case.

Fortunately I'm too lazy on holiday and rarely carry out my planned runs, but still! I didn't need another reason not to run!

Very sad but really sounds like educated guessing as to what happened.

40 minute run causing rhabdo? In someone who's apparently "super-fit"?

Although yeah nothing to suggest from that article that she was especially fit, or that underlying fitness changes anything.
