2,700km, 100 days, Britain's coastline, never touching land. Starts 1st June. 6hrs swimming every day.

The mind boggles.

Erm...

“Earlier this year I attempted to swim from Martinique to St Lucia while tied to a tree. “

I was going to give up hope at that point but, there’s more.

“I’d aimed to swim 40km point to point, but the current was totally against me and kept dragging me back. Even though I didn't reach the shore, I actually swam over 100km in the end. “

Right then.

Smile

It’s nice to push the limits of human endurance with considered and reasonable advances.

If https://db.marathonswimmers.org/longest-swims/ is anything to go by, he’s only looking to out do current records by just over 2500km, so a reasonable target really.

"One lesson I learnt on my swim in St Lucia is that most conventional energy gels only deliver 30 grams of carbohydrates, which isn’t enough. The solution is to use piping bags you make a cake with, which we’ll fill with custard, curries and what have you as I bite the end off and pump the food into my face."

I'm sure my old High5 gels were 60g per sachet.

I hope he researches his route better than his energy sources.

Who knows, maybe he's so incompetent he may end up swimming the Atlantic by accident.

Towing his log.

“It’s the equivalent of swimming the English Channel every day,”

"I need the ability to swim 50km day and night"

Err, not sure the maths add up here.

Hope he logs the boat's co-ordinates while he sleeps and doesn't allow drift like our friend who tried to swim to Brazil 6 miles at a time...

Err Good luck on that...

The comedy is getting a bit wooden around here.

If he drifts too much, he might get beeched.
