I am tempted on the half. How lit is the bike and run? I know it states you need lights. What is the course like in the dark?

TIA.

About half the bike course has lights. The local council decided a few years ago to remove the street lights from Bob Dunn way.

The roundabouts and turn points have lights but between them there are none.

There is a far bit of borrowed light from buildings but you will need lights.

What’s the bike course like? 20 Laps with a few dead turns every laps sounds a bit start/stop or does it flow a bit better than it sounds?

Its 20 laps with 4 dead turns and 4 sharper turns each lap. What do you think the flow of the course is like Laughing

It's only 1 sharp turn and 1 turn that looks sharp but you can actually carry quite a lot of speed into it. There are 4 dead turns but the rest you can stay aero if you want.

To be fair, it's so flat and with the lack of anything to look at, I quite like the distraction of the turns....

2 sharp turns with traffic islands into and out of the bus route! Certainly need to brake for them

the "climb" from the bottom of the dual carriageway soon starts to grate as well for a "flat" course Wink

The one off the bus route certainly, but the one onto the bus route you can coast into or a slight speed scrub (on the hoods/base bar) and get around just fine. I agree, it looks like you should have to slow right down but if you get the line right it's fine. 60 times around have given me some practice ...

Might give this one a miss this year though. Who else will toe the line from these parts?
