Hi, all.
Course details up on www.racenewforest.co.uk
Despite the change of venue both the bike and run courses take in most of the traditional ForestMan routes. Run may be a touch easier but we'll see! We're all a few years older, if not wiser.
Super accurate Iron Distances!!
Good to see you there.

He did say the Gladiator was flat. It wasnt "flat" Wink

basically this course is the same 3 laps on the ridge but the entrance and exit is from Moyles Court end not Sandy Balls so you lose that hill there but I imagine you gain one or two at the other end.

Am I reading it right, that there's a 1.6km run to T1? Shocked

Yes, that is correct.
Hammerer - explain the transition to us...

The swim appears to be in Ellingham Ski Lake, which is where the first ForestMan swim was (there was only about 100 people taking part that day)

The first and second (?) ForestMen swam in Ellingham Lake, using a transition at Ellingham Water Ski and Wakeboard Club house. We then exited onto Ellingham Drove (you can see this easily on Google Maps satellite view.)
The space we used looks tiny on the map, I am guessing there is not enough room for all competitors there...

...it appears as if the T1 run is from Ellingham Lake, along Ellingham Drove and into Moyles Court School.

4,500ft elevation on the bike.
1,400ft elevation on the run.

Doesn't start from Sandy Balls :'(

Richard Iles. There's a name from my distant triathlon past (I was just out of nappies back then).

Is it true you punched a horse? Very Happy

that looks about right to me Poet but Ive never raced out of Moyles court. Yes they must have been moved on from SB in 16 as all their races seemed to move. Also the bike is 2 large loops and 2 small loops looking at the maps posted, so one just like the original (but cutting through Burley to Ornamental Drive rather than along the busy A35 road which was brought in 2012/13 I think. The small laps look to cut out the section via bransgore and straight to the airfield. It looks good but no Nomansland climb though Sad

This all sounds quite complex guys. I think I'll do Bolton through Nirvana Travel.

Might be nice to have a warming jog to T1. It will be well managed. Wish the extra run distance could be taken off the bike distance! (Richard - PLEASE!)

The bike course looks good though - much of the same route as the original. Very Happy
