you gotta love twitter... |
Presumably the people who are taking to social media in outrage read the Ts & Cs of the event when they signed-up
There must be a clause in there that allows the organisers to change the route as they see fit

Ironman will be watertight on that, and old hands like us know the score anyway. But generally, I bet most of us don't read T&Cs on most things, unless they involve very big lumps of £.

a bargain at only 1 billion pounds |
The race briefing must be today: has anyone been?
Guess it'll be quite lively.

There's been quite a lot of rain in the last 24 hours which should increase the likelihood of the swim happening.

Not necessarily. Rain brings nutrients into the water which the algae feed on. Can actually make it worse.

From my diving days, I believe it disturbs the sediment too.

Surely we know by now if there's going to be a swim or what?

Only three women in the pro race, and one of them’s apparently had a bit of a disaster. Can’t remember who’s in second but makes it a touch easy for Gossage no?
Balazs just had to give up the lead due to a mechanical.
Coverage on FB is pretty good no?
Edit:
The aerial shots make it look much nicer than I recall it from the ground, I just don’t think you see that much of the landscape from the road. It is making me jealous though...especially of the paltry 19°C
Don’t know what happened to the lead Frenchman but he’s out now. German leading (shocking) with Cartmel 2.5min and Skipper 4.5kin behind.

In terms of intensity, with 25km knocked off how much do you adjust the pace? Or stick to your plan and enjoy the fresher legs o the run?

I always find the lack of female pros at certain events strange. Surely this would be a very easy pay cheque and some KPR points for someone wanting a long training day if they took it easy and didn’t race at 100%?

Not a good elite female field because you have to be able to ride to get around this Bolton course which is a bit of a limiter....
Great tracker for following athletes but the rolling start has feked any chance of category updates....

Laying it down on the bike. From 394th overall, to 4th. 4.10.29. Boom.
