By some miracle I got a ballot entry. Received on the day I went for x-rays on a foot I can't walk on. The 28th April is a long way away.... (I hope).

2nd go at this. Hoping for a significantly better day than 2015 when I saw every toilet stop on the route.

Coming soon to a Wales near you, Smitters at the Great Welsh Marathon. Or, a couple of laps up and down Llanelli Coast Path, if you prefer. Here's hoping for no wind... in April... in West Wales...

Wow Shocked . No idea how many ballot places they actually dish out, but I reckon the chances of getting in via the ballot must be less than 1 in 20 now. No wonder they dropped the "5 rejections and you're in" rule Wink

I think it's usually late February.

I got in on the last year of first come first served Ballot when they had a limited number of ballot places and once they were filled the ballot closed.

Now it's open for a week and free for all it makes the odds of getting a place very unlikely!

Think I will have a third crack at Manchester...

Assuming the course is unchanged, save some mental fortitude for the bridge in the last 3 miles. It's a segment of out and back. A fast course with well stocked water stations and hilariously loud support in Magor! I put too much into the first half and regretted it in the second half... Standard.

Having got into Ride London through the ballot for the first time ever this year I just knew that VLM would be a No No
