Update

I've just received an email saying that the first info I got was not up to date.

Apparently it's to do with the "ITU Pass" which no longer exists and so licences from only those countries listed are accepted.

The organisers of Tours'N Man have posted an update this morning. There are a few people annoyed as it also affect USA Triathlon licences.

I've no idea when the FFTri meeting is to agree rules, but I suspect there will be a few race organisers annoyed with the change.

Edit: the article on the FFTri website is very brief so no reasons why but it's combined with an update about the use of tri licences to do marathons etc. organised under french athletics federation - tri licences are no longer allowed. I'd guess there's an element of paying it forward here Rolling Eyes

So BTF Members do need to jump through an additional hoop if they enter a French Triathlon then?

According to Ironman France, BTF members are now ok. But large parts of the rest of the world are not.

All the French Ironman events now list the UK as an accepted country tri license.

Clarity received again - ongoing email exchange and a bit of inconsistency in the list of accepted countries.

Here on the FFTri website - "Angleterre" is clearly in the list

Elsewhere they've got the original list Stenard had.

That's likely just a translation/sloppy language thing, surely?! The Ironman France event pages have been updated to specify "UK" licenses as being allowed rather than "England".
