Just drove round it....
Tough, with virtually no flat.
Itís all up or down.
Quite strange with some crazy downhill sections.
If itís wet it will be carnage, I was getting disc brakes anyway....!

Ok did two loops of the course today.
Starting bottom of sheep House.
Missing out the town centre.
Got to be one of the hardest course's
i ever ridden. I've always raced on my
TT bike. Not a chance of me using it
on this. If you're doing it recce it. My
mates and i will do it at least 5 or 6
times before the race.
Next to no flat bits. Tough hills nasty decents.
Be interested to have other opinions on it.
But im afraid im not far wrong 😒

Sounds about right. TT bike for me though still.

It goes past lots of family & friends houses so I will have 2 little street parties in Ainsworth & Tottington to look forward to.

Agree, I did one lap last weekend and almost didnít get round, completely ran out of energy and leg strength. Joined at Belmont and didnít seem too bad at first, but from Bolton back round to Belmont is relentless struggle. Did a longer ride in North Yorkshire today with more elevation but 3kph quicker despite lower heart rate.

Did a loop of the new course, followed by the 2018 reduced loop.

4.1 kph quicker for the same effort. That new loop really is hard.

Managed the new loop in the big ring.......

Not as macho as it sounds, i run a compact, 30 on the back, and i was on a silly light bike.

But Hunters and Anglesark are steeper than anything on the new creation, but it has drags that go on forever... 3.2 miles apparently!

My main limiter is the downhills, scared to death in damp conditions and carbon rims.

Sure the speed will creep up with practice.

Brian Fogarty, bike course record holder and local tri-hero has his say on the course. Tears it apart and that is without even mentioning the hills.
