Anyone watching the Jump London programme on C4? Its about a new sport called 'Free Running'.
These guys are ace, fitter than us triathletes and they must have balls of steel.

Madness, these guys are like real life spidermen, they run along roof tops and jump from one to the other with no effort at all! Increadible strength!

Hi,
Yeh I saw some of this, was quite impressed. I agree they are supple and have good hand strength. But, dont think they are any more supple/stronger than most boulderers and mountain climbers. Just looks cooler.
I guess they are wearing proper climbing shoes which gives the good grip on whatever surface run on, against. And they also train up sepcific muscles.
Must admit though, I'd think they were a bit weird (backward?), if I saw these kids jumping around the loacl playground and didnt know they were doing free-running

Darryl,
These guys did not have proper climbing shoes, they wore nike running shoes.
I think this sport is gonna be the next big thing!

I should stress that this has never been promoted by its practitioners as merely a "sport". If we all tried it, 50% would die after the first day
It's an art form, closer to martial arts than sport, which requires years of practice and drills before attempting even the easier stuff. Not exactly plaing around on the monkey bars, either!
Strength - not needed so much as agility. Think of a cat - not big muscles but very flexible and agile. Also v.good balance and timing. And yes, balls of steel / titanium / kryptonite!
