When do races start next year ? I started my first Tri season this year in June and am aching to get stuck into some Oly size races early next year.

my first (ever) this year was wombourne sprint in march.
not fantastic organisation (i.e. transition security & enforcement of rules).. but not bad.
pool swim, mediocre bike, nice fast run.

I usually start off with either Stratford (depends when they hold it), Telford (tinman, but not on in 2003 but back for 2004!) on May day Bank holiday Sunday or Banbury in middle of may. All well organised apart from the 'Carnage' in the pool at Stratford!

Nothing like a few short sprint races to get you going at the start of the season!

Over the winter looking to improve my running so may look to do a couple of short duathlons in march/april.

Sevenoaks asid they would be hosting a sprint tri in April - will prob start with that one, although no details yet.

Daz is trying to convince me to enter the London Marathon as well - not a good idea for someone like me who considers an hour's running an eternity! Embarassed

Yeh I think there are a few duathlons in feb-march before the tri's kick off. I usually start the year with running events before moving into tri's

I'll prob. start with 7oaks , suggested near Easter -unless it's near to London Marathon then may not fit in -if I get in that is Sad The "hedgehog" series in Surrey/Sussex usually start about May. Rob if you haven't already entered London then the date must have passed I think for entries, so you may be safe Very Happy -unless we all go across to Paris roughly the week before (as I had to this year) then you have no worries Twisted Evil You'll just have to run a "fast" marathon Exclamation Not a marathon and an oly' in 2004 Question Very Happy

Yeh 7oaks and marathon may be same weekend, forgot about that.

What did you think of Paris Sue? I did it in 2000 and 01 and loved it. There is a good chance Ill be doing it next year cos missed out on good-for-age and promised my bro (who has also entered) that if i get in and he doesnt then he can have my entry (as itll be his first)

Daz,
it wasn't as well organised as London but would be better for doing again. Not as busy as London -even back where I was Wink so a ggod one for times (I did knock 2 mins of PB) , bare of spectators in places but not a problem, easy for "your" spectators to see you (not that mine would come back as it was cold and "boring" Sad ) But getting dropped off (I went with Leisure Pursuit Group) near the start would just not have happened anywhere else, or having a few of the drinks stops with wine on offer Exclamation I enjoyed it Very Happy

That's what I like about the French - wine at drinks stops, so civilised! Razz

Eton supersprints start early, usually around May 17/18 or something like that - short and fast race to get the season started
