Anyone else turning up for this other than TriSam and me?

i've never done the draft legal format, so should be a bit of a giggle. 71 potential entries in the baldy 45-49 AG, No idea how its going to go, but swimming, biking and running all seem pretty much ok at the moment.

Any tips?

make sure your bike is draft legal

basically - drop handlebars, no tri bars of any type, both wheels with a minimum of 12 spokes i.e. no tri rigs!

5k run: 18-30-19
2mins transition time if i cock up.

Surely the tri bars with the bridge between extension are allowed?

Interesting thanks, I wonder if that'll catch anyone out. I didn't plan to use any, but good to know either way.

they'll be checked at transition entry and athletes told to remove them if found.

I've been a TO at a few draft legal events - age group and elite - and you get an odd few rocking up with them, but usually those who are either new to drafting, and simply haven't read the rules. even had someone try to use tri bars at an off-road MTB duathlon!

I'm in. 30-34 AG. It'll be my first draft-legal race as well. I have no delusions about qualifying, but it's a relatively local race, a bit of fun adding in the drafting, and a chance to get an OW race swim in before Cotswold 113.

Wow, just looked at the results, plenty of depth of age group talent.
Anyone here manage to qualify?

I forgot to enter the bloody thing! Checked the race startlist last night and was shocked to see myself absent. Went and did a local 70.3 instead

Very Happy
