Good luck everyone - hope we all get round safely, and PB's all round.

I intend to be showered and in Ruta by 20:45 latest. I'll be the one wearing the finisher t-shirt- easy to spot! Smile

"May the course be with you"...

Ozzie.

I'm going to stick a number and number belt in both bags and decide in T1 whether to take a number on the bike. Preference from a hassle point of view would be not, but I do like the fact that your name and nationality is on the number, so makes things a bit more sociable at the less pointy end Wink .

I reckon the ramp out of T1 could be a bit messy at busy times, particularly with the 2 hairpins. The plastic tiles on the beach could be a bit slippery too in cleats. I reckon the steeper ramp down into T2 is going to be a bit tricky too.

Another thing I remembered from the briefing is the run course lap length. Apparently it's 21km/10.5km/10.5km.

Good luck everyone! It's going to be awesome
Cool

Interesting ride out today, stopped at a couple of cafes and the locals are furious over the length and positioning of the road closures, he was saying the locals are talking about blocking the route etc. Allegedly they were only told about the complete road closures 6 days ago, a big conference has had to be cancelled and other festivals etc are all In jeopardy, thereís a lot of disquiet about IM this year, I think itís the complete road closure thatís screwing people up, a couple we were chatting to have been told they have to vacate the villa at 5.30 in the morning for an 17.00 flight otherwise thereís no way they are gonna get to the airport!

Could be an interesting day!

The whole "complete road closure" thing is a bit weird. As far as I understood it, it was a Spanish law requirement right? Yet they didnt have complete road closures throughout the Mallorca 70.3 course? Many sections had traffic flowing on one side of the road.

From what I heard the law has always been there, but ignored. A while ago a new police chief started from the mainland and us a stickler for the rules. I've been coming out here on training camps for last couple of years. This year we were told if you get caught having a slash at the roadside it's a 150Eur fine. Again not a new law.

Anyway good luck all. I'm not getting up at 7 to come and cheer you on but should be down later in the day.

Anyone finished yet? The tracker no worky when I looked earlier so can't see. I walked down with my daughter earlier. Saw a guy roll in from the bike after 8 hours elapsed on a P5X . That was money well spent. Someone on the bike rolled over the dismount line on the bike about 5 feet and the official made them go back and then walk over or properly.

Conditions for the run looked hard. It's very hot today and there is not a great deal of wind, by Lanza standard anyway. Almost broke into a sweat carrying my wine up the hill from the SuperDino.

Hotel has been nice and quiet today without the IM bods.

All done in 11:35ish....pretty happy with that...time for beer 😀

Developed a chesty cough after the swim which really hampered the run...weird! Bike descents were great fun...bike seemed windy enough, mainly cross winds being the most annoying.
