On Friday I managed to pull the zipper clean off the top end of my wetsuit zip. No apparent damage to either zip or the wetsuit materials itself. The wetsuit is in reasonable condition and I don't want to junk it over a zip unless absolutely necessary.

Anyone got an estimation of the cost of a zip repair/replacement? The online places I have contacted haven't got back to me with an estimate yet.

Elsewise I have seen these cheapish zipper replacements on amazon that you can sort of tighten in place fixnzip https://www.amazon.co.uk/FixnZip-Nickel-Replacement-Zipper-Sewing/dp/B00DD5LIV4/ref=pd_bxgy_201_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=8T52BHYZY66BEDQW93QS&th=1 anyone got any experience of using one of these types?

What kind of wetsuit was it and when/where did you get it from?

The zip bust on my Huub suit, and I took it back to Sigma Sport, who obligingly took care of getting a replacement suit from Huub and in the meantime loaned me a decent loan wetsuit so I could continue training/racing (one of the reasons I decided to subsequently buy a bike from them).

Anyway - it sounds like your suit isn't under warranty or returnable in any way?

Its a speedo tricomp from the triathlon shop in Bristol and about 4 years old so long-time out of warranty.

It's not the greatest or most expensive wetsuit but it does the job I need it to and would at least like to get another 12 months out of it before replacement

You'll find plenty of repair places on Google. I would just choose the closest one to you, if you want a speedy repair.

Snugg used to repair any suit, not just their own.
When my zip broke, less than 2 weeks before the Scilly swim they turned it around in a few days.

I think the cost was about 60 which included replacing a shoulder panel that I'd ripped a bit
