It's been happening for years...along with changing gears and closing shoes...

Doesn't make it any less despicable.

I will follow the story with interest as it seems there was supporting photographic evidence.

Lifetime ban in my opinion.

No place for this sort of behaviour.

First page on ST has a suggestion of jail time as part of her punishment...

Makes you think doesn't it?

My bike got a lot of attention at Pays D'Aix and I found I had a slow flat afterwards. Only one I've ever had. Plus there is a lot of contention between 1600th and 1700th place...

That's America - they hand out jail time for looking at people funny.

Wasn't Joe Skipper hinting at this in Denmark at the weekend, he got out of the swim and his tyre was flat, despite pumping it up before the race.

Think he's since checked it and no flat?

Year ago I got on my bike at a triathlon and found my shoes switched to the wrong pedals. I had always put it down as me being very stupid but this has got my thinking Smile

Wasn't underestimating either the impact or the stupidity...

A lifetime ban would not allow them to feel shame...a lifetime of ridicule would be better...perhaps a special area in transition for cheats...

I'm thinking the same. I got on my bike at Chantilly tri in 2015 and my rear tyre was flat. It was hot, but not hot enough to have realistically thought the tube could have blown, altho that's what I had always put it down to. I just changed it off to the side of the mount line presuming the tube was punctured, but I am now wondering if something more cynical had occurred.

It had genuinely never even crossed my mind people could think about doing some things like this.

I found my front tyre flat when I got to my bike in transition at IMAZ, however if someone was trying to scupper my bike time they would have been better doing it before the bike leg, not after....

this is why i always try and leave T1 as late as possible before the start: i check my bike over again at the last minute.

i'd never expect anyone to deliberately fiddle with someone else's bike but i half expect a clumsy numpty to knock something/kick anything on the ground etc when setting up theirs.

I had a real panic in a race one year...

Took my run bag off the peg in T2 and I thought....

Nightmare!! Some fecker has had it away with my running shoes!!

A few moments of flapping around contemplating a bare foot marathon before I realised I'd grabbed somebody else's bag who had already left on the run Smile
