I loved this event last year despite rubbish bike conditions and boiling hot run conditions. Bit jealous of those doing it his year as I'm not.

Have fun and race safe folks

I found it harder than a one-shot Ironman, the accumulated fatigue by the Sunday is a killer.

That marathon is a nice flat stroll as well.

That's an amazing effort mate. Just looking at the overall results, didnt really sink in when I read your post the first time. Huge congrats.

Winner

I was just happy to finish. 3 weeks ago I was in bed unable to walk and had 7 days off work.

I was thinking about this. I reckon it's a different kind of hard. You need to get into race mode, then out of it again, then into it again, which isn't easy. Also in IM, sometimes you can plough through but LCW format allows time for niggles to become showstoppers.

Given that 100 entered as LC Athletes and only 550 finish, the attrition rate is horrendous compared to IM. So there must be something about.

Could have done without the standing around waiting for the 4th medal preso but the 'wall' of athletes was very cool.

Harder psychologically to get up and motivated for the run. In IM you haven't got a choice when you get off the bike, you have to run.
