Love one of his mitigating circumstances was he was suffering from PTSD at the time and this effected his actions.

Yeah or maybe he's just #@?# some more to get out of the mess he's in!

He only did one triathlon ffs; why does the headline not say 'former soldier'?

A custodial sentence of any length is enough to make life very difficult for him when he applies for things like jobs, credit, foreign travel etc. I know the ROA only lasts for 2 years, but with fraud he might have to disclose that for longer in some cases.

Sentence is for twenty, he'll serve ten weeks including the eight for breaching the previous suspended.

@jorgan quite so. Unfortunately ensuring a benefits cheat stays on benefits is not necessarily the best outcome for society either!

did he say how he became injured?

the bit i did read was that the charge was for additional care/support, so i assume he will keep his pension/income but lose the additional cash...

i won't condone his behaviour, but if he was wounded, the pension is #@?#...

ALLEGED claims of mitigating circumstances. Fortunately PTSD doesnt make you accidentally fill out holiday and event entry forms and forget about them, so the judge wasn't having any of it.
