I've been looking at some compression shorts to run with. Compressport shorts specifically, the Swiss based company states they are underwear shorts, I really don't like wearing overshorts over the top. Can you wear these shorts without overshorts when running or are they made as stated underwear only, like the mens Multishort for example

I don't see many wearing them, but I have two pairs of the ForQuad sleeves; have you considered those?

What are the benefits of compression shorts?

I've been trying to understand them without being baffled by the marketing.

I got mine for 26 quid on sport pursuit, so thought I'd give them a try. Plus they are really good for extending the paltry leg length on the Castelli suits. Nice to see Hywel still popping in Smile Congratulations on your recent Frankfurt race.

Fcked myself over at ADH though. Punctured, crashed and bust up my arm.

I don't like traditional shorts flapping around and the underwear chaffing, I think it's because I've been cycling loads over the last 10 years and I like the lycra type feeling. I telephoned Compressport they gave me a link to their only running short that doesn't not require an overshort. X-Bonic do running shorts have about a 5 varieties but are a lot of notes.

I've had a look at these, but again prefer compression shorts due to material not flapping and chaffing.

I don't really buy compression gear as such, but always wear very tight fitting '2-in-1' shorts...They hold the meat & 2 veg in place nicely and stop my thighs from rubbing.
