ha ha I tried to register and by the time I had filled out the form places had gone and I was on there when it opened, so good luck to anyone who has made it and I might have to try the Christmas entries.

I raced this year. Not ready to commit to next year yet, but may be able to later in the year. Is the Christmas entry window for charity entries only. ie you need to raise a certain amount of money to take place etc

I stayed in the Novotel Nurenberg Messezentrum and was only 20 mins or so from the race, food was good and they put on breakfast day of the race too.

Flew to Munich and hired a car.

My wife struggled to get about as she doesnt drive and didnt have a bike, I think a spare bike/hire one would be the best way to get about during the race.

I stayed in the Nurnberg Novotel too. No complaints, good hotel and not too bad a drive in. Had a similar issue in that the GF doesn't drive, but she was also doing the race, so was in on all the timings that I needed anyway.

In terms of getting around, it wasn't the easiest race. Split transition means a bit of a faff picking stuff up after the race. We ended up jumping in with another couple who had a car, so one of us drove to the start on race morning and then the other gave a lift in the evening to pick up the car.

I would second having a pedal bike for the wife if possible. She would be able to get up to the start to watch the swim should she wish, and then get around during the day to watch you at various points. I booked my accommodation the same day as entering the race, so a year early, but not sure how booked out all the hotels get. You might as well get onto it though as you are definitely in.

We stayed in the ramada landhotel nuremberg. On the outakirts of thr city. Didnt book up straightaway as my parents booked a few weeks after we did. Good price, they put on a 4am breakfast race day and you could keep your bike in your room. Plenty of competitors from all over staying there. We had a car (drove from rotterdam) and wife drI've. It would be a right pain without a car.
