No & no, but it is pan flat round there I think, the road surfaces aren't terrible but aren't great either.

I train on a 6 mile loop that includes hunters hill.... so anything is going to be flat in that area.
People have had issues staying aero for the bike as its 90% Aero bars.
Stoked to race.

What a great race.
Super organised, staff so helpful and a great atmosphere.

Water was colder than expected, bike quite open and windy run was tough.

I recommend without reservation.

Did the Allerthorpe Classic last summer by same organisers and assume similar course, enjoyed it - good course & simple organisation.

Living in York I have attended quite a few Freebird events now. They are always bang on.

Don't expect m-dot glory with fireworks and big show-offs, but low key perfectly executed events that are oozing experience. Paul is ace at running this kind of stuff.

It's the kind of event where you rock up and can forget about all the rest. It's just taken care of for you, and all done logically from an athlete point of view rather than a PR glory-hunter point of view.

good event, much like a club event really with very friendly marshalls.

could do with a few tweeks to make it better but overall good value for money
