Hey,

This is a question for any Forerunner 230 owners.

With my 910XT you can setup multi sport which I use for swim/bike/run. I can also use the same principle to create a run/run/run where the first and last activities are the warm up and down. This is great as it creates 3 separate activity files and my main run data is kept separate from the warm up/down.

Can anyone confirm if this can be done on the 230? I'm after a newer Garmin and it ticks all the other boxes.

Nope. The Forerunner isn't a multisport watch.

But save yourself the 200 extra you'd have to pay for a 920XT or whatever and just stop the workout, save it and dtart a new one. it'll take literally seconds, as i do this all the time when i want to specifically record a session within a run.

It's a cracking watch i must say, and on super battery saving mode i have got over 13 hours out of it. If you're not fussed on the swimming stuff, then i think it's hard to beat personally.

Sorry if I'm being thick but what's the benefit of a run/run/run multisport session over just pressing lap within a run session?

You may want to use laps within the main run session, and you'd lose some granularity in your analysis if the wu and cd kms were within the same file. Not a big deal, but i quite looking at the session in isolation.
