An awful lot of noise about nothing.

Most lenders increased mortgage over the last 3 weeks in anticipation and to counter the increased swap rates. The only thing that will change short term is Tracker mortgages and standard variable rates.

I work in banking and a few years back there was one building society that offered below base rates trackers but didn't have a clause to stop the rate going negative.

I think there were only a very small number of customers but they were paying the customers interest on their mortgage at one point.

Nice. I'd hope that your Mortgage was a lot smaller than ours though, so you'd get better repayments on such long deals.

Rates are still lower than they have been for 10 years.

I took my first mortgage in the late 80's, I seem to recall a scary rate of 15% Surprised
