Some absolute bargains on there!

Agreed. The buoyancy shorts were a bit of a bargain just for leaving at work for the occasional session where I don't fancy using a pb.

HUUB have a blackfriday mailing list. You can access the stuff before it goes live tomorrow. Half price Archimedes II. Some half price tri suits. I want one of the DS long course suits in club colours but they are not reduced. The nationality ones are, UK and USA. Might get one of those.

Yeah. I might get the patriot ones with the UK flag. Anyone know what the sizing is like on these? Most sports kit I would wear a L, but looking at their weight and height chart I should be in a XXL.

Yeah, I got the Z3 neoprene shorts (3/5mm) this year with a Z3 voucher I won. Very happy with them when I want a lazy session, or the occasional time it's warm enough in the lake (once this year!)

Just a few sizes of wetsuit left it seems (on Friday and now) apart from the niche 'Align' and top-end Victory D. Do these top-end wetsuits give any real advantage over a good mid-price one I wonder? Or perhaps just a sponsored-athlete, or vanity, or got-it-in-the-sale thing...

I liked the Aspire on a test-session this year, feeling much the same as my Huub Aerious (both are mid-price). Usefully I'm bang in the middle of Zone3's size category, but on the edge of Huub's sizes. Felt the same for a 500m swim, but much easier to get out of the Zone3 than my super-tight Huub.

Amazon deal of the day is the 735XT for 235, or 244 with HRM.

Better than the other prices out there from what I can see. Personally, the 735XT isnt for me, but might interest some.

I have a 920 and I wouldnt upgrade to the 735XT personally.

As it stands, there is actually nothing that I'd upgrade to. I am a fan of the square screen, so the fact they've eliminated that design from all of the current lineup leaves me stuck. I'll now just stick with my 920 until it dies. And then probably buy another on the cheap at that time.

A square 930 would have appealed and likely got me to upgrade this year.

When my old Orca wetsuit had to be retired after providing winter sustenance for our resident mice in the garage, I bought a Vanquish.

The change I noticed was phenomenal. I'm a middle/back-of-the-pack swimmer with not great technique and I definitely noticed a difference. Can't remember now the actual time difference but it was noticeable. I suspect its clever arrangement of buoyancy panels and sleekness in the right areas made up for my crap technique through the water.

I guess it depends on your use case. I jumped from a 910 to a 935 and wear it more or less 24/7. I wouldn't wear the 910 or 920 as a daily watch.

The 735 is a nice watch for everyday, small and light. Just lacks a barometer over the 935 (and 920). I believe it supports a later version of Garmin apps than the 920, but don't know of anything there that is significant. It is really the form factor that is the only 'upgrade'.

I keep thinking about upgrading my 920xt but mainly because I can't be arsed to use the PC to upload things

I actually went crazy and went for the 735xt yesterday.

Still not sure it was wise but I was getting to the stage I "needed" an upgrade.

My current Garmin didn't last to the end of IM wales and is starting to fail randomly at various points and only Hard reset brings it back to life. Unlike some people who kid themselves it's time for a replacement tis really is over due.

I'm hoping for some good advances in Technology in the 7 years I have had my FR 305 Laughing I must say it's been a faithful servant and has worked very hard in it's long hard life!

Lets see what the 735xt can do

You don't use Bluetooth to your phone with the Garmin app?
