How did you find the run? Steep downhill first half followed by running on hot hard concrete pavement is pretty harsh, I thought.

Its awful.
The middle distance guys can hammer it and limp to the finish, we have to hold back and then the 12k of downhill in the legs makes the next 30k a horrible experience.
It makes it slower, not faster.
