Hey guys and gals.

I need to whinge a bit. apologies. Has anyone else been in the situation where the off season has been extended due to a myriad of reasons from end of september until the end of march and just as you were going to start blowing out the cobwebs (ten weeks before the season opener race) you have been slowly and agonisingly dying of tonsillitis for a week? or is it just me?

surely the triathlon gods must hate me...

somebody please tell me that it's all going to be ok.

End of whinge.

Thank you and sorry.

In this part of the world its called 'spring'. The air is toxic at the best of time but in spring, the bugs come out of the woodwork. My wife says cycling isnt good for m here due to the pollution and she is probably right - thats quite apart from the particulate matter (sand) in every breath.

I'm on my second virus and second cold in four months.

Bring on the Olbas oil again.

You're not alone and my A race is hanging in the balance at the moment.

Since June I've badly stuffed my back up twice, had an operation, broken my hand, family bereavement, and then just when I thought I was getting back on track in February I came down with flu at the beginning of March.

You have my sympathies. I'm not giving up though and hoping that the worst is now behind me and can move on.

Everything will be hunkydory before you know it. Hope you feel better soon.

Homer: My measly tonsillitis pales in comparison with your rather heroic list of adversities... I will shut up now and man up. Thanks for the sympathy. I can only give a big nod of appreciation in your direction after the cr@p you have been through and still find it in you to enourage others. Bravo! Hang tough and keep pushing.

Cheers
