Even as an indicator of general health, bodyfat % is by no means the definitive gauge.

I donít believe Iíve suggested that it is.

That was a general observation about bodyfat, not digging at you Smile

Ref that study. You have conveniently ignored that *if* all other things are equal, then bodyfat is taken into account. More important things like VO2 which are a much greater factor in performance for people of the same weight. Hence why there are some very good people who are a little chunky in places. Nowhere does the study suggest that bodyfat is "the biggest factor in Triathlon performance"

You mean you've placed some large caveats on it. As a statement taken in isolation (which is how you made it) it's misleading, especially in the 'wrong hands'.

It's posting statements like this on the Internet that cause us to remark on FB groups like IMJ.

Body fat percentage is the biggest determining factor for a triathlon result.

Last night I had the honour of being blocked from IMJ. I don't even know why and the admin blocked me when I asked. Laughing Maybe you need to buy iron rookies bookie to enter now 😆

Judging by the comments on IMJ this morning, there was a big purge last night. I think that the criteria was whether you disagree with Iron Rookie or Carl Jennings

I am ashamed to say that I was not blocked

I'd cancel that 220 subscription too; just keep hold of the last 12 issues and read them again next year.

thats the thing I don't think Ive ever really been controversial on there as I am logged on as me. Im one of a handful that actually helped others properly when I bothered to engage. very strange behaviour but no great loss. I might start a new group Wink

#metoo Wink

I joined out of curiosity earlier this week and I left the group this morning. My facebook timeline was just full of self-indulgent posts from would-be Ironmen posting on IMJ. I couldn't be bothered to trawl through the dross to unearth the gems referred to on here Rolling Eyes
