My sympathies to all those entered - it sucks Sad

No Sheephouse Lane...
Yeah that sort of sucks; 17 miles short is quite a chunk

Can I still get at tattoo if the bike course is shortened?

Yes, but it has to have a corner missing.

I feel really sorry for all scheduled to take part in IM UK. I am sure Ironman argued strongly against this decision. Hope the Algae situation doesn’t impact swim... although I foresee a lot of upset stomachs next week.

The meltdown on IMJ is predictable, I think that they will be calling for pitch forks and lynch mobs soon

it's a feking race...too much is built around a meaningless but supposedly specific distance...

This, its the same for everyone there. Entitled self-centred pricks - its not like running where the distance is actually important.

An Ironman is not a race for hardly anyone, sorry if that offends, but it's just a very long parkrun for all but a few.

it is a race...that people choose not to race it (or cannot race it) says plenty...

It does suck.

I’ve added a few “encouraging” comments to IMJ accordingly...

This was pretty much my point in an earlier comment, people do Ironman to get the tattoo, to say that they are an Ironman.

Yeah thanks for ruining my evening guys. I signed up to that group and my brain cannot compute / comprehend the level of...of...of... I don't even know what word to use.

Baffling! I mean I know it's the interweb and all, but they're all so angry. Maybe I should offer hugs to everyone? Rolling Eyes

Yeah, go ahead - I’m sure offering hugs will have exactly the intended effect! Wink
