That's a fair comment. It's weird as they allow them at Lanza and the wind there on a standard day is way worse that what it seems like they get in Kona (I've experienced Lanza, but only going by what I see on tv in Kona).

It's surface area forward of the steering axis that causes the biggest issues in (cross)winds.

Of course, the heavier you are, the more planted you are on a disc too; hence why most women don't use them, as they're <50kg.
