Doca, Just to confirm, are you saying you didn't turn right at Lamphey and continued down the coast to Freshwater and Angle on the same loop as the first lap?

Just checking as I am not 100% sure if the routes are the same.

If so...wow, what a monumental ride Laughing

You must have been cruising past some slow riders at that point Laughing

Can somebody confirm the elevation reading of the marathon for me please? I know my bike reading was off, as I have 1247mtrs when it should be something like 2140.

I have 357mtrs for the run (seems like more than that but maybe I was just knackered.

I have a Foreunner 935 and seems like I have the dreaded 'elevation' issue Sad

I had 1,720ft on my 735xt

Yes exactly, I didn't turn right at Lamphey and did the big loop going to freshwater west twice.

I came out of the feed station at Lamphey on my 2nd lap and bumped into a mate, his words were "what are you doing here?" lol. I was crushed.

Lots of cheating going on......lots of penalties. Frustrated

New bike course and new drafting rules for next year to resolve this perhaps?

Christ, I hope not! Did Ironman Wales there last year and loved it. Managed to get the wife on board for 2019, and we're just going to bimble round LCW together and enjoy the weekend.

The bike course is a 'sportive', so normal tri rules don't apply. Expect lots of sizeable groups riding around like complete nutters; one of the reasons I like non-drafting, I don't trust riding in a large group with people I don't know.

Have to say, I won't be back to LCW until it's fully closed roads or they put the shorter routes on a different course. The event has outgrown the area for it to be open roads IMO.
