4th?! I swear you've been heavily involved in every Frankfurt thread for the last 10 years.

Been thinking of this myself, half fancy another go at sub 10 after doing 10:10 a couple of years ago, the wind was pretty chewy on the bike and I bottled it when it started raining on the way back to town. Don't like wet descents.

There's also the risk of 40c, but that's a risk on a few of them.

I'm in Hamburg this weekend and have hired a bike with the intention of looking at the IM course, and then doing the ITU on Sunday.

Problem is, I'm not sure if I can be bothered with the committment of big training sessions week in, week out, particularly the swims, but the 100 I did last week got me thinking I can still do the bike around 5 hours on a good day.

Crumbs, that's early! It's more like a registered entrant list at this stage Very Happy

Did I ever mention my race there in 2015?

As long as you have your registration receipts/confirmation from Active you should be okay; just send Ironman.eu an email?

As hot as the jam in a donut that someone has left in the microwave too long. But not quite as hot as Outlaw 2013...

When the marathon takes longer than the bike, you know something's going on Very Happy

^^ the roads are certainly much better. Although the centre of Frankfurt does have a lot of drain covers to avoid; oh and the tramlines!

After all these horror stories about how hot Frankfurt can be, that's good to hear since Outlaw 2013 was my first IM. And then freezing my balls off at Wasdale X I guess I can do one in most climates.

Wasn't Outlaw actually high 20s that year...the same as your average Continental Ironman Wink But then people moaned about the heat in Bolton this year (on IMJ), after having nearly two months of heatwave to prepare for it Rolling Eyes
