The bottle behind was entirely her fault though. It was just going in a cage and she cocked it up.

Ahh I thought she was trying to fill up the reservoir like this:

Who the feck designed that, and what had they been smoking?

Did anyone see how badly the fuel/hydration setup worked for Lucy Charles yesterday? The lid popped off pretty early into the ride and was flapping about in the win, probably ruining all aerodynamic gains.

Then while she was trying to add her special needs nutrition to the bladder behind the saddle, she dropped it.

Not a great advert Very Happy

Agreed. Gomez clearly didnt trust the lid staying put either:

Just seen this: https://forum.slowtwitch.com/forum/?post=6765534#p6765534

Shows how crappy it must be to refill in the intended way Rolling Eyes

I am bias as I own the old Shiv... however, the old Shiv looks really good, I just hate how this one looks

The hydration system is cobbled together, and looks like an early prototype. However, even if you take this off, it is not a great looking bike

Even though I don't like the look of a bottle on the aerobars, it is extremely convenient. I have mine setup with a supermagnet glued to bottle and taped to straw, it is a really good solution that keeps the drinking straw nicely tucked away

I like to keep my gels in an aero bottle on the frame (saves having to tape 15 gels to top tube), would this work?

Looking at the photo, it's clear that Lucy dropped the bottle because the huge sharkfin reservoir means that the rear behind the seat bottle is that much further way and at a sharp angle. Not easy getting the bottle in by the looks....

apparently Don had a water bottle purposefully wedged in somewhere near the reservoir as well. Not the greatest of sales pitches!!!

Lucy'd lid flapping and bottle probs, Javi's electrical tape and Don's quick fix!! Crying or Very sad

A cheeky trip to the velodrome to do some testing or even a wind tunnel would be a whole load more than shelling out on a new bike like this.

The difference between the P3 and the P5x is about 8k-10k depending on what setup you buy it in. That's enough to get you good tunnel time, swap out the bars/brakes for some TriRig or something else quick, and have money left over to spend on a trip to an international IM branded event.

I still don't understand who's buying these bikes?!

Aerocoach is only about 700. thast money well spent if you are that concerned, recon you'll get more from that and a Canyon that any of these 5 figure bikes.

Or any 2-3k bike if it's optimised. Even an optimised 10-year old P2C or P3C would be very fast after some aero analysis.

My Shiv was just 1100, does that mean that it was too cheap to optimise?

Yes. You are suboptimal Matt.

Just how Specialized designed it, and tested in the tunnel, I'm sure. At least it was an appropriately branded bottle! Clap

You can get a P2C for under 1k!

Did anyone see Don do anything with that bottle or was it purely an empty bottle wedged in to keep the lid shut?
I'd read that he'd wedged a bottle in there but assumed it was in a cage and usable as hadn't seen the picture. Carrying a completely superfluous bottle just to hold pieces of your bike together is another level.
Will this go down as one of the worst product launches ever?
