I was wondering if any of you could share your views on these two bikes.

I have decided to to take the plunge and upgrade from my Planet-X racing bike which I converted I.e. bars, wheels and seat to help me in events.
I know I could buy a good secondhand bike for the same price ( early model ) but I am more keen on a good warranty.

I have researched these two companies what are your thoughts ?

What's the price/spec? BMC looks like 105 and Canyon Ultegra? BMC looks nicer, but you're probably getting less for your .

My head says you should get the Canyon. Stick a couple of Tririg brakes on it when we get a killer free-trade deal with the US Rolling Eyes and away you go!

Having just gone through the process of getting a Canyon, I can completely vouch for the quality of finish, design etc. Their bikes do look and feel the part, with I would gauge at lest 25% discount versus brands sold via distributors.

Two things to consider:
- you can get a Canyon and send it back within 30 days, no questions asked, if you do not like it. I ended up sending mine back simply because the 'feel' was just not right. Process was painful because of UPS, not Canyon, and the refund was processed without delay.
- the sizing is on the larger size versus other brands - so make sure your measurements are right (or, again, you can try a few different sizes).

Both are great brands, and in performance terms, nothing really to split them. It is worth checking this site for a great geometry comparison

https://app.velogicfit.com/frame-comparison

It may be that one frame fits you better than the other. If you are happy with your Plannet X fit, have a look at how they compare

If you want a Canyon, it is worth biding your time and looking at the factory outlet section, these bikes come with full warranty. Last year I bought an Ultimate CF SLX with a 1200 Euro discount, when it arrived, it looked almost unused... it was probably an ex demo bike, but could have been a customer return (under the 30 day return scheme).

I own both a BMC and Canyon, the quality of both bikes is great, but BMC is probably a fraction better, but really splitting hairs

Don't know much about the Canyon, but I have the previous version of the BMC and it is great. Upgraded the wheels to zipp 808s which has also made a big difference! I mainly use it for sprint and Olympic distance but have also done one Ironman on it with another to come next year. No complaints! Depending where you're based, you can check out its availability on Athlos Triathlon https://athlostriathlon.com/cycling?manufacturer=114
