We are in France for a pre Christmas break and see the news about fog causing mayhem at Heathrow. Our flight from Paris is on Saturday late afternoon and it looks like we may have difficulty getting home.

How bad is it and does anyone know if it is likely to run into Saturday? Should we be thinking of alternative routes home? we booked with flybmi and don't think our insurance covers weather problems. We need to get to Heathrowto pick up the car. We could do eurostar, but would be another 360 for the family.

Any info/suggestions welcomed.

I live just round the corner from Heathrow and the visibility is about a hundred metres and the fog shows no signs of shifting.

Got a friend flying in from Oz tonight.

Which website can I get updates on incoming flights?

I think all the long-haul are still going (with delays), it's just the short-haul which are getting cancelled

How is the fog today?

It is all nice and clear here in rural France, but very cold. Had hoped to get out on the bike this week, but too cold and not got the right cold weather gear.
